Skin With Imperfections

Definition:   Skin with irregularities such as enlarged pores, blackheads and pimples. These imperfections are caused by several factors: thickening of the epidermis (hyperkeratinization), excessive production of sebum (hyperseborrhea) and the multiplication of a bacterium (Propionibacterium acnes).

Internal and external causes:   Genetics, excessive sun exposure, hormonal imbalances, lack of sleep, stress, pollution, smoking.

How to reduce or eliminate them:   Use astringent, sebum-regulating, purifying and antibacterial skin care products (salicylic acid, glycolic acid, zinc PCA, niacinamide, azelaic acid, bakuchiol, retinoids, benzoyl peroxide...).

Preventive measures:   Stop touching your face; moisturize your skin every day with an appropriate face cream; remember to remove your makeup every night; protect your skin from the sun every day; clean your face every day; opt for non-comedogenic skin care products; exfoliate once a week.
