Dry and dehydrated skin are often confused because of their similar symptoms (tightness, redness, flaking...). Nevertheless, it is important to distinguish between them because they do not require the same care. Find here the definition of a dry skin as well as our formulas adapted to this type of skin.

What Is Dry Skin?
Dry skin is characterized by an alteration in cell cohesion, a lack of natural moisturizing factors (NMF) and a deficiency in the production of fatty substances. This lack of hydrolipidic film exposes the epidermis to external aggressions and causes a loss of water. It can be identified by tightness, a tight skin texture, feelings of discomfort, a "crocodile skin" effect, flakiness, tingling, lack of suppleness, redness, irritation, cracks, a dull appearance, and thin, rough skin.
Be careful not to confuse dry skin with dehydrated skin! Dry skin lacks lipids while dehydrated skin, as its name suggests, lacks water.
What Beauty Routine Should I Use To Care for Dry Skin?
We advise you to use products enriched with moisturizing and lipid-replenishing active ingredients (hyaluronic acid, ceramides, squalane, vegetable oils, plant butters, etc.). Here are the different steps to follow to take care of this type of skin:
Step 1: Cleanse Your Skin
In the evening, start your skin care routine with the 7-ingredient cleansing oil, whose texture will bring comfort to the skin. It removes makeup and impurities from the skin without irritating it. This care will also soften and nourish the skin thanks to the sweet almond oil that it contains, essentially rich in omega-9. If you prefer a texture with a balm - oil - milk transformation, choose the camellia oil makeup remover balm. This one removes face and eyes make-up and cleans gently. Using this product makes the skin supple, soft and comfortable.
In the morning and evening, choose a gentle, oil-based cleanser such as our moisturizing cleanser with palmarosa. Cold saponified, this process allows the vegetable oils to retain their lipid-replenishing and soothing properties. If you prefer to use a makeup remover balm, our camellia oil formula removes makeup from the face and eyes and gently cleanses. Its balm-oil-milk transformation texture makes the skin supple, soft and comfortable.
You can then complete this beauty routine with a moisturizing tonic, which will rebalance the skin's pH, while eliminating the residue of limestone present on the face. Concentrated in hyaluronic acid and aloe vera, this lotion helps rehydrate the skin and reduce feelings of tightness. Only after these initial steps are completed can targeted anti-dryness treatments be applied.
Step 2: Add Lipids
In the morning and evening, it's important to nourish the skin deeply. You can apply our nourishing olive squalane serum. This addition of lipids helps repair the hydrolipidic film and thus limit water evaporation.
You can complete this care with the application of a replenishing serum with ceramides and lavender extract, which will help to reform the skin's hydrolipidic film, protect the skin from external aggressions and prevent water from evaporating.
Step 3: Make a Weekly Appointment To Exfoliate and Nourish
As with all other skin types, dead cells accumulated on the upper layers of the epidermis require regular exfoliation. All you have to do is incorporate a gentle exfoliating scrub, such as the regenerating olive squalane facial scrub, into your routine on a weekly basis. It will not only loosen the flakes to allow the skin to benefit from the care it will receive afterwards, but also repair the skin barrier.
If you prefer to avoid grainy scrubs, you can also opt for the gentle lactic acid peeling serum. Less abrasive than glycolic acid, it is better tolerated by the skin and is therefore an excellent alternative for skin that does not tolerate glycolic acid products. In fact, this molecule, which is larger than the glycolic acid molecule, penetrates less deeply into the epidermis and is therefore less irritating than the latter.
Caution! Lactic acid serum should only be used in the evening (it can increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun) and does not need to be rinsed off.
