During a more or less prolonged exposure to the sun, the epidermis initiates a natural defence mechanism that results in a brown colouration due to the production of melanin. However, this protective barrier, which is none other than tanning, remains for a more or less extended period after the last sunbath.

Dehydration is primarily the reason when a tan does not last.
UV rays dry out the epidermis and accelerate the process of cell renewal, thus promoting skin peeling. Therefore, adopting an optimal moisturising routine is the primary solution to prolong your tan:
Immediately after sun exposure, hydrate and refresh your skin to soothe any potential sensations of heat with the hydrating face and body gel containing aloe vera and orange blossom. We recommend applying a small amount to a clean and dry skin and massaging until fully absorbed. Its melting and light texture penetrates quickly and leaves the skin soft and comfortable, without a sticky finish.
For the face, morning and evening, you can use the plumping face serum which contains 3% of hyaluronic acid. Light, this serum absorbs quickly allowing you to then apply the face moisturising cream with 9 ingredients. Enriched with hyaluronic acid and coconut oil, it is a minimalist formula that hydrates and nourishes the epidermis. Its light and non-greasy texture is suitable for dry, normal and combination skin, even sensitive ones.
For the body, opt for the body moisturising cream with 10 ingredients, which hydrates all skin types, even sensitive ones. This treatment is enriched with coconut oil, a vegetable oil rich in saturated fatty acids that nourishes and prevents skin dehydration. It also contains glycerin derived from rapeseed and sunflower seed which captures the moisture from the air and allows for superficial hydration of the skin.
It is also recommended to provide lipids to restore the hydrolipidic film. Vegetable oils are therefore highly advised, and particularly theoil of rosehip, for its gentle scent and its highly regenerative powers, theoil of hibiscus, very rich in vitamin E and theraspberry oil, perfect for sensitive and reactive skin.
Note : In all cases, a tan cannot last more than a month after the last sun exposure due to thecell differentiation. This natural process is characterised by the maturation of epithelial cells that load up with keratin to result in dead cells constituting the horny layer that eventually get desquamated. The keratinocytes thus continually renew themselves in a cycle ofapproximately 28 days.
Gently exfoliating once a week also helps to enhance the radiance of your tan.
A few days after the last sun exposure, for a radiant tan, do not hesitate to gently exfoliate your skin. Contrary to popular belief, a gentle scrub will not erase the tan but rather prolong it. Typology has developed four scrubs based on micro-exfoliating grains derived from the grinding of apricot kernels. The face scrubs are less concentrated in abrasive particles than the body scrubs, in order to respect your skin:
Theradiant facial scrub is recommended for unclogging pores and promoting cellular renewal.
Theregenerating facial scrubis recommended if one wishes to diminish the appearance of the first signs of ageing. It gently exfoliates and unclogs the pores. The gel transforms into an exfoliating oil under the effect of massage, then into a milk upon contact with water. Containing essential oils, it should not be used by pregnant women.
Thenourishing body scrubhelps to soften and smooth the epidermis. It is particularly suitable for dry and uncomfortable skin.
Thetoning body scrubcontains green coffee macerate (draining) as well as lemongrass essential oils and Atlas cedar (anti-cellulite). It is recommended for smoothing, firming and toning the skin while reducing the appearance of orange peel skin.
