How to Make Your Beard Soft and Smooth.

Due to frequent shaving, the beard sometimes becomes dry and rough, which can lead to itching. However, there are some simple steps and products that can be taken to alleviate this type of discomfort and soften the hair. Find our advice below.

What Factors Can Cause a Rough and Scratchy Beard?

The first factor is none other than shaving. Indeed, during regrowth, in order to penetrate the epidermis and the corneal layer, the hairs thicken, harden and gain in strength, hence their rough appearance, which is sometimes unpleasant to the touch. Beard hair tends to be rougher than hair.

In addition, poor beard maintenance (lack of hydration, use of unsuitable tools and equipment, lack of care when shaving, etc.) reinforces its rough appearance. Dandruff can then appear. This inevitably leads to numerous inconveniences, such as tightness or itching.

Tips for a Softer Beard.

It is possible to have a supple and smooth beard without frequent visits to the barber! But how to make your beard soft and more comfortable? Let's discover together the gestures to adopt:

  • Clean your beard regularly.

The beard easily collects dust and dirt. It is important to clean it regularly, especially before applying a treatment. In addition, cleaning unclogs the pores, which allows the treatment to penetrate deep into the hair follicles. Cleansing the beard will also help to purify the skin underneath. In this sense, you can use our purifying cleansing gel for example. Concentrated in purifying active ingredients such as zinc PCA, this cleansing gel purifies the skin, regulates sebum production and limits the development of imperfections.

Note: Once a week, gently exfoliate with a beard scrub to prevent the development of ingrown hairs under the beard, purify the skin and stimulate hair growth.

  • Apply a beard oil.

After washing, be sure to dry your beard before moving on to the next step. Beard oil is a multipurpose treatment that cannot be ignored. It helps discipline and soften the beard hair, limit the development of bacteria, moisturize the skin and limit potential itching related to shaving or provide a pleasant scent to provide a real moment of well-being. If you have a dry and brittle beard, you can use a smoothing beard oil morning and night, daily. However, oily skin types should use beard oil once a day or every other day to improve the appearance of the beard without a greasy effect.

Typology beard oil contains several vegetable oils: hemp, castor, argan, sunflower. It also contains essential oil of green mandarin peel, as well as essential oil of Scots pine needle. This last one brings to this oil a fresh perfume of forest and sap of pine. It is packaged in a bottle equipped with a pipette of dosage. It is enough to take some drops in the hollow of the hands and to rub them to heat the matter. Then apply the treatment to the hairy area of the face, from the root of the hair to its tip, while massaging the product into the skin. The active ingredients will also act on the skin to soothe itching and stimulate growth.

  • Brush the beard to make it soft.

This step is not mandatory, but we recommend that you accompany the application of beard oil with a few strokes of the brush or beard comb. This is necessary, especially if the hair is long. This will allow you to better distribute the care on the lengths and ends. This way, the softer beard will be styled, and the beard oil will be evenly distributed.
