How To Take Care of My Beard?

Whether you have a full beard or a stubble beard, your beard needs to be taken care of. There are many grooming products and methods specifically designed for this purpose. Here are all our tips for caring for your beard.

Why Is My Beard Often Rough and Brittle?

This is mainly due to frequent shaving. During regrowth, the hairs become thicker, harder and stronger. This leads to a rough appearance that does not always feel pleasant. Thus, beard hair tends to be rougher than other body hair. It is also important to point out that poor beard care (insufficient moisture, use of inappropriate tools and materials, lack of care when shaving, etc.) increases the rough appearance. As a result, beard dandruff may appear. This inevitably leads to numerous inconveniences such as feelings of tension or itching. So what measures should you start with in order to take care of your beard?

Tip 1: Wash Your Beard Daily

The beard easily holds dust, dirt and impurities. The aim of this step is mainly to clean the skin under the hair and open the pores with a mild cleanser. This allows the subsequently applied care to penetrate deep into the hair follicles. Besides, with this habit you will prevent itching as well as feelings of tension and prevent the appearance of dandruff, which affects the aesthetics of the beard.

In this sense, you can use, for example, our cleansing gel. This cleansing gel, focused on clarifying agents such as zinc PCA, clarifies the skin, regulates sebum production and limits the development of impurities. Additionally, use a beard scrub once or twice a week to gently remove dead skin cells on the skin's surface. This prevents the development of ingrown hairs under the beard, cleanses the skin and stimulates hair growth.

Tip 2: Apply Targeted Care Products

There are special care products for the beard, such as oils and balms. The main difference between these two types of care products is their main function: beard balm, unlike oil, does not nourish the skin underneath the hair. Its effect is limited to the beard; The balm ensures that your beard stays in shape. Beard balm is especially suitable for men with an already pronounced beard growth, while beard oil can also be used for a beginning beard growth. Beard balm should not be massaged into the skin, as this could make the beard greasy and shiny.

Whether you have a three-day beard or a pronounced full beard, you can use our beard oil to soften your hair and nourish the skin underneath. It is preferably applied to a clean and dry beard. This beard oil contains several plant oils: hemp, castor, argan and sunflower. It also contains essential oil from the peel of green tangerine and essential oil from the needle of Scots pine. The latter gives the oil a fresh scent of forest and pine resin. This care is packaged in a bottle with a dosing pipette. Simply take a few drops in the palms of your hands and rub them together to warm the material and distribute the product. Then apply the care to the hairy area of the facial skin. While applying, massage the beard in the direction of hair growth, from the roots to the tips, so that the care is better absorbed.

Tip 3: Use the Right Tools

If you have a long beard and want to groom it without necessarily going to the barber on a regular basis, keep a pair of beard scissors on hand for some touch-ups, a trimmer, and a beard brush or comb.

In fact, for longer beards, brushing is one of the indispensable rituals in beard care. The main purpose is to improve its appearance, giving it a disciplined look. In addition, this step promotes the penetration of the previously applied care products such as beard oil. Brushing should be done daily to avoid knots that affect the aesthetic appearance of your beard.
