Blackheads: What are they?
Blackheads, also known as "open comedones", occur as a result ofthe blockage of skin pores due to an excess of sebum and the accumulation of dead cells. Upon contact with air, the latter oxidises, hence its black colour. They are generally present in areas rich in sebaceous glands, such as the nose, chin and forehead. Blackheads can also appear on the shoulders, chest and back.
How to eliminate blackheads?
To combat blackheads, it is recommended to use astringent and purifying treatments. They work by eliminating excess sebum and dead cells that clog the pores. Using a hydrosol is a good solution for taking care of skin prone to blemishes.
