The Centifolia rose, a hybrid plant of unknown origin.

The hundred-leaved rose belongs to the Rosaceae family; its name refers to the large number of petals on the flower. It resembles a uniform, flexible bush that can reach up to 2 metres in height. This plant blooms from the month of May and the harvest takes place in the morning, at dawn. Its flowers are pink, red-purple or white, made up of numerous thin petals. Its geographical origin remains unclear; today, it primarily grows in Bulgaria, France (Grasse) and North Africa (Morocco, Tunisia).

From the flowers of this rose bush, steam distillation allows us to obtain two distinct fractions, the essential oil and the hydrosol, both used for cosmetic applications among others. The centifolia rose hydrosol presents itself as a clear, colourless liquid with a floral, subtle scent, with sweet notes.
