How to apply a facial mask?
Regardless of the type of mask used, there are a few key steps to follow to apply it correctly.
Before applying the mask, ensure that your skin is thoroughly clean. To do this, cleanse your face with a gentle cleansing product suitable for your skin type;
Gently wipe your face with a towel by patting it clean;
exfoliant for enhanced effectiveness of the treatment;
Using a soft-bristled brush or your fingers, spread the mask in a semi-thick and even layer across your entire face, while avoiding the eye and lip contours. Don't forget to include your neck in the process;
Leave it on for 10 to 20 minutes, depending on the manufacturer's instructions, before removing it with warm water. You can also use a soft glove to facilitate removal;
Note : There are masks that are designed to be left on all night, such as our firming face mask.
Once the time has elapsed, some masks require you to gently massage your skin in circular motions for an exfoliating effect. These include, for example, the peeling mask enriched with fruit acids;
Then apply your usual treatments: facial serum, night serum, moisturising cream, etc.
Before or after the shower: when is the best time to apply your face mask?
The shower is, by definition, the moment when you rid your skin of the impurities that have accumulated on its surface throughout the day. However, the mask should always be applied to perfectly clean and makeup-free skin. We therefore advise you to take your shower and then apply your face mask, as your skin will be cleansed. Moreover, after the shower, the skin is more receptive to deeply absorb the active ingredients provided by the mask.
