Week 2
2
It’s the week after your period: the week of ovulation.
At this point in your cycle, from day 8 to day 14, estrogen levels increase until they reach a peak that triggers ovulation. The increase in estrogen allows your skin to retain more hydration and feel more supple while stimulating the production of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid which works to hold moisture and plump the skin.
The balance between increasing estrogen and low progesterone levels allows the skin to be noticeably hydrated without getting too oily.
As nature intended, this is the time of your cycle when your skin is looking its best. Your skin is in its prime to make sure all the odds are in your favor to fertilize the released egg at the end of the week (around day 14).
It’s during this week that your skin tends to look the most beautiful.
