What is "Coco-Caprylate/Caprate"?

The "Coco-Caprylate/Caprate" is an esterified oil, mainly derived from coconut vegetable oil but some from palm oil. It is a oil derived from pure vegetable oils, which have undergone two successive transformations: the first is to dissociate the fatty acids and the second to recombine the resulting molecules (fatty acids) either with glycerin or with fatty alcohols or even polyalcohols. The esterification results in the formation of anesterified oil with a composition and properties different from the original vegetable oil. Indeed, it has eliminated the basic virtues of the vegetable oil which acquires new properties thanks to the combinations made.

The "Coco-Caprylate/Caprate" used in our products is ofplant origin and is extracted from coconut oil, native to Indonesia and the Philippines.

What is the utility of "Coco-Caprylate/Caprate"?

"Coco-Caprylate/Caprate", a clear, slightly yellowish oil, stable to oxidation and with a slightly greasy odour, is characterised by its ease of use and its high level of biocompatibility with the skin, allowing it to penetrate the epidermis well. Indeed, it remains liquid even at room temperature. Therefore, it is no longer necessary to heat it to be able to mix it with preparations. It is fluid and penetrating, which facilitates its application.

The "Coco-Caprylate/Caprate" is notably used in the composition of eye contour creams, face creams, body lotions, sunscreens, massage products, foundations, tinted concealers, body cleansing products, hair care products and makeup removers.

The "Coco-Caprylate/Caprate" possesses emollient properties. It aids in restoring the skin's hydration, thereby providing the skin with lightness, softness, and suppleness. It has the ability to spread well and easily penetrate the skin's lipid layers. Moreover, it leaves a non-greasy and non-shiny finish on the skin, without a drying effect. This ester oil is particularly appreciated as it is often presented as a natural alternative to occlusive mineral oils. Finally, "Coco-Caprylate/Caprate" is not harmful to the skin or health.
