Routine visage de printemps.

My springtime facial routine.

The winter season has effects on the skin. Indeed, it is often drier and may exhibit redness or even tightness due to weather conditions (wind, cold, rain...). To regain its radiance with the arrival of spring and prepare it for the heat, it is pertinent to adapt one's facial routine. Find our advice below.

Cleanse your skin morning and evening with a suitable skincare product.

Regardless of the season, cleansing one's face is essential to minimise blemishes and the build-up of dead cells on the surface of the epidermis which give the skin a dull appearance. Depending on your skin type, choose the product that seems most relevant to you:

  • Those with dry skin can utilise the hydrating cleansing milk. This treatment contains 0.5% ofhyaluronic acid combined with chamomile extract. It also includes a base of gentle, biodegradable surfactants of natural origin that create a delicate foam to cleanse the skin, while respecting its balance. It is applied to damp skin in the morning and/or evening, directly with the fingers. The milk emulsifies upon contact with water into a fine foam, facilitating the rinsing stage. If you prefer a solid product, the hydrating cleansing care with palmarosa is a cold saponified soap made in France and composed of 8% superfat. This corresponds to the amount of vegetable oil remaining after the saponification reaction, the higher the superfat percentage, the gentler and more nourishing the soap is.

Apply a hydrating mask once to twice a week.

In winter, due to the cold and wind, the skin often faces a lack of hydration. It loses its radiance and can "show" more with dehydration fine lines that appear or intensify. Our hydrating face mask helps to combat this phenomenon. This treatment contains a tremella extract, a natural source of hyaluronic acid, combined with aloe vera, an excellent hydrating and soothing active ingredient. The skin is soft, supple and plumped, maintaining its hydration over time. Its gel-like texture melts onto the skin, providing instant soothing.

Thehydrating maskcan be applied evenly on dry skin in a semi-thick layer, avoiding the eye contour. For this step, the mask can be spread directly with the fingers or with a brush to distribute the treatment evenly. It is recommended toleave the mask on for 10 minutesbefore rinsing your face with clear water.

Tip : To enhance the penetration of active ingredients through the skin and remove impurities/excess sebum that clog the pores, start by performing a scrub just before using the moisturising mask on the face. In this regard, depending on your skin type, you can use theradiance face scrub(for dry, uncomfortable and/or dull skin) or theregenerating face scrub(for dry skin showing signs of skin ageing).

Switch from nourishing and rich treatments to lighter formulas.

Exposure to weather conditions (cold, wind, rain...) during the winter period often results in skin dryness and dehydration. In response to this, it is recommended to turn to rich and nourishing treatments, particularly for dry skin. However, with the arrival of warmer weather, one should not hesitate to lighten one's skincare routine and place more emphasis on serums and/or botanical blends rather than rich creams.

It is also recommended to apply targeted actives to restore radiance to the skin. Morning and evening, after removing all traces of impurities from your face, apply for example the radiance face serum.Highly concentrated in vitamin C (11%), it gives a real boost to dull and tired complexions. This treatment also contains 3% of Albizia Julibrissin extract. This Asian-origin plant restores vitality to the skin. Together, these ingredients help to slow down photo-ageing. In the evening, finish your routine with the radiance botanical blend or the firmness & radiance complex with 5 vitamins. Concentrated in antioxidant actives, these two treatments offer a preventive and corrective action against the appearance of signs of ageing and help to reveal the skin's radiance.

Protecting oneself from UV rays.

This directive is not exclusive to the spring season. Indeed, UV rays are particularly harmful to the skin and accelerate its ageing. Even though their intensity is lesser in winter, applying a sun protection suitable for one's skin type should be an essential step in one's morning skincare routine.

The face sun cream from Typology with an SPF30 prevents photoaging thanks to the combination of mineral and organic filters offering broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection. This sun protection care is enriched with aloe vera, karanja oil and hyaluronic acid derived from fermented wheat. The clever blend of these 3 components prevents photoaging while maintaining skin hydration. However, we do not recommend it for oily skin.

Bonus : Its light texture leaves a finish without white marks, non-sticky and non-shiny. Regular application is recommended in case of prolonged exposure (while hiking, at the beach, etc.), approximately every 2 hours.
