Long or curled eyelashes: the differences.

Long or curled eyelashes: the differences.

Eyelashes play a crucial role: they protect the eyes from the sun's rays, dust, and any other pollutants. That's why it's necessary to take care of them, and to use specific products designed especially for them. Whether they're natural, made-up, or curled... Here's how to look after them.

Some facts to be aware of.

On average, an eyelash measures between 6 and 10 mm, and is considered "long" when its length exceeds 12 mm. Therefore, if you wish to curl your eyelashes to intensify your gaze, we recommend you start by stimulating the growth of your eyelashes.

Techniques for achieving long eyelashes.

To promote eyelash growth, there are treatments with nourishing and hydrating properties:

  • Pure castor oil stimulates the growth of eyelashes and reduces their loss. It also increases volume and density due to its toning properties.

  • Skincare treatments composed of vitamins and peptides serve to strengthen the follicles, thereby enhancing the resilience of the eyelashes. Vitamin B protects the eyelashes against chemicals and pollutants that can make them brittle, and peptides contain the amino acids that produce keratin, which is responsible for the healthy condition of the eyelashes.

  • Finally, daily makeup removal also aids in maintaining robust eyelashes. This step eliminates the makeup and impurities that cling to the lashes throughout the day. Also note that eyelashes should be treated gently during makeup removal, to avoid weakening them and causing them to fall out.

How to curl your eyelashes?

To enhance the eyelashes and make them appear more voluminous, mascara is, of course, the go-to product. It is applied along the length of the lashes, from root to tip, sometimes using a zigzag motion. The brush, along with the wax contained in the mascara, helps to curl the lashes and set their curve. Most mascaras contain hyaluronic acid, which aids in rehydrating the lashes.

The eyelash curler, whether manual or heated, is also a widely used alternative for shaping the eyelashes. Clamped for a few seconds between the two jaws of the device, the eyelashes curl and increase in density.

Finally, the lash lift. This technique involves curling the lashes using a slightly domed silicone patch, which redefines the curve. Unlike mascara, which is removed at the end of the day, a lash lift maintains the curl for four to five weeks.
