Identity Profile: Expression Lines (Dynamic Wrinkles)
Definition:
Grooves etched into the skin, encouraged by facial expression habits such as squinting or frowning. They end up marking the face, even in a state of muscular rest. Among the dynamic wrinkles, we can mention crow's feet around the eyes, frown lines located between the two eyebrows, marionette lines that run from the corners of the mouth to the chin, and horizontal forehead lines which are a consequence of facial expressiveness.
Internal and external causes:
Repeated contractions of the facial muscles; skin ageing.
How to reduce or eliminate:
Hyaluronic acid injections; botulinum toxin injections; facial mesotherapy; fractional CO2 laser abrasion.
Preventative steps to take:
Hydrating your skin daily; applying a high-index, broad-spectrum sunscreen; using from your twenties onwards treatments containing active ingredients that stimulate cell renewal and collagen production (retinol, peptides, etc.)
