The various skincare products containing CBD in their formulation.
The cannabidiol (CBD) is an active substance that is one of the hundreds of cannabinoids present in hemp. Unlike Δ-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is considered responsible for the intoxicating effects of cannabis, CBD does not have any psychotropic effects, allowing it to be used in cosmetics. Numerous anecdotal reports highlight the effects of CBD, which, in some cases, have been supported by research findings. It has been attributed with antioxidant, anti-sebum, soothing, and anti-inflammatory properties, in addition to having therapeutic benefits.
Since 2019, the CBD segment has been experiencing significant growth in general, and this is also true for the cosmetics industry. It has become a booming natural ingredient, being incorporated into the development of various skincare ranges due to its numerous properties. Indeed, studies have revealed its effectiveness in addressing certain issues, although it can be suitable for all skin and hair types.
Anti-blemish care : The sebostatic and anti-inflammatory action of CBD makes it an ideal ingredient for improving the appearance of blemish-prone skin. Lotion, serum, cleanser, cream... it has interesting uses for reducing various imperfections (pimples, blackheads, etc.), as well as preventing their occurrence.
Hair Care: Just like the skin, the scalp is daily assaulted by various factors (stress, seasonal changes, unbalanced diet, unsuitable care, etc.). CBD is also making its way into hair care products with its anti-inflammatory and soothing functions, and can be found in shampoos or hair oils. With daily application, it can help to calm inflammation of irritated scalps or "purify" oily scalps with its sebum-regulating properties, thereby restoring the natural functions of the skin.
Care for sensitive skin: CBD molecules also possess anti-inflammatory properties, which are a boon for weakened and reactive skin. It is effective in soothing irritations and reducing all types of redness. Indeed, sensitive skin, being more fragile, triggers an inflammatory-type reaction upon contact with an allergen, causing the appearance of redness.
Pain Relief Care: With its analgesic action, CBD in the form of balm, cream, or oil can be used topically in massage to alleviate certain types of acute or chronic inflammatory pain (joint pain, muscle soreness, back pain, neck pain, osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, etc.), relieve tension, relax muscles, and calm the nervous system through targeted application to the affected area. Specifically, CBD works by blocking nociceptive perceptions generated.
