When to resort to a treatment based on sweet almond oil?
Firstly, let's clarify that sweet almond oil is an ingredient that does not contain any allergenic substances. It can be used by pregnant/breastfeeding women as well as young children without risk. As a precautionary principle, the topical application of this oil is only advised against for individuals who are sensitive/allergic to nuts.
Next, this vegetable oil can be usedpureorincorporated into a skincare formula. It is suitable for all skin types. However, it is primarily recommended for taking care of skin that is mature, dry, fragile, and prone to discomfort. Sweet almond oil is particularly rich inmonounsaturated fatty acids such asoleic acid (also known asomega 9), present in a mass fraction ranging from62 to 86%.Indeed,this lipid is part of the natural composition of sebum, a substance secreted by the body to counteract the dryness of the skin and hair. Oleic acid is therefore recognised by the skin's constituents, and penetrates deeply tostimulate sebum production by the sebaceous glands. It is thus described as re-lipidising.
This vegetable oil is also suitable for dry, brittle, split, coloured and dandruff-prone hair. To deeply nourish the hair, sweet almond oil can be used as a mask or oil bath. Applied once or twice a week, it will strengthen, restore shine and soften the hair. The sweet almond oil bath also helps to combat dry dandruff.Apply a few drops 2 to 3 times a week and massage into the hair. It only takes 15 minutes of application before washing, or you can leave it on overnight followed by a hair wash in the morning. In the event that the hair has split ends, simply apply sweet almond oil to the tips to restore their shine. Be careful not to apply too much so as not to weigh down the hair.
Furthermore, this vegetable oil has shown promising properties in reducing and/or preventing stretch marks. Stretch marks appear as unsightly streaks on the skin. They are the result of sudden skin stretching, as in the case of pregnancy for example. To lessen their appearance, simply massage the area with sweet almond oil twice a day (morning and evening), for 3 weeks. Unlike essential oils, vegetable oils can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
When and at what time of the day should sweet almond oil be used?
In terms of its application frequency, sweet almond oil can be used daily to care for one's skin. As it is not photosensitising, it can be applied in the morning but we recommend using it in the evening, at the end of your routine, due to its oily nature. To enjoy its benefits, pour a few drops of oil into the palm of your hand, warm it up and spread it over your face and neck. Light circular massages aid in the penetration of the active ingredients.
When used as a hair treatment, sweet almond oil can be applied 2 to 3 times per week, depending on the needs of one's scalp and/or hair.
Note: Sweet almond oil is a healthy ingredient that does not contain any allergenic substances. However, it is always recommended to test it in the crook of your elbow before any use. If itching or irritation occurs, do not apply the sweet almond oil to the face or scalp.
