Maylis Péboscq, Scientific Communication Specialist at Typology, shares her views on jojoba oil.

"This vegetable oil is often valued for its versatility. Its richness in gadoleic acid, a mono-unsaturated fatty acid belonging to the omega-9 category, makes it both softening and hydrating. Indeed, by strengthening the hydrolipidic barrier, it limits the dehydration and slows down the water loss from the epidermis. Moreover, its biochemical composition closely resembles that of human sebum, so it is well absorbed and penetrates deeply along the follicles. It then limits the phenomenon of hyperseborrhea, hence its sanitising effect on oily skin and scalps."
