Sensitive Skin: Tips for a Successful Routine.

When one has sensitive or even reactive skin, redness, tingling and tightness can occur anywhere, and at any time. Fortunately, certain molecules help to calm, soothe and relieve the skin in a lasting way. Discover which ones.

How is sensitive skin defined?

Skin sensitivity varies from one individual to another. Hyperactive skin is characterised by feelings of tightness, tingling, itching, irritation, heat and sometimes redness. These discomforting sensations appear in an exacerbated manner in response to stimuli. These symptoms can manifest on the face or on certain parts of the body. Several factors are responsible for heightened skin sensitivity: heredity, ageing, diet, hormonal imbalance, stress, pollution, certain medical treatments (such as radiotherapy), UV rays, and so on.

The appropriate routine for sensitive skin.

When one has sensitive skin, it is recommended to favour gentle, hydrating/nourishing treatments and to avoid products containing perfumes and irritating surfactants such as sulfates. Mechanical exfoliants (or grainy scrubs) should also be avoided. Here are the steps to adopt to soothe your sensitive skin or at least not to aggravate it further:

Step No. 1: Remove your makeup every day.

Every evening, apply our makeup removing oil that is fragrance-free to rid your skin of the residues that have accumulated throughout the day. If you prefer a texture that transforms from balm - oil - milk, opt for the cleansing balm with camellia oil. This gently removes makeup from the face and eyes and cleanses gently. The skin is supple, soft and comfortable.

Step No. 2: Choose your cleansers meticulously.

The unifying cleansing gel with niacinamide and sage hydrosol is packed with active ingredients to reduce redness and even out the complexion while cleansing the skin of impurities. Due to your skin's reactivity, we suggest for the third step of your routine the use of our unifying toner with niacinamide. It will eliminate the limestone residues on the skin following cleansing. The advantage of a toner is its ability to rebalance the skin's pH after each cleanse.

Step No. 3: Nourish your skin with targeted active ingredients.

As the final step in your routine, apply a few drops of the unifying serum with 12% niacinamide. This will reduce redness and soothe the skin. You can pair it with our unifying & rebalancing complex with three pre + probiotics. This serum rebalances the skin's ecosystem to prevent the appearance of blemishes and reduce redness. The skin is healthy and the complexion is even.

If you prefer a cream texture, the face moisturising cream with 9 hydrating ingredients moisturises and nourishes the epidermis. It is enriched with hyaluronic acid and coconut oil. Its light and non-greasy texture is suitable for sensitive skin.

Step No. 4: Soothe your skin with cornflower hydrosol.

Thecornflower hydrosol is excellent as a decongestant treatment for the eye contour area. Moreover, it also provides an anti-inflammatory action and soothes the skin of the rest of the face. It is applied to the entire face in the morning and/or evening, using a cotton pad or directly with the fingers.
