Contra-Indications and Precautions
As a general rule, sage hydrosol does not irritate the skin. However, because of the presence of ketones and the absence of studies on toxicity, sage hydrosol is contraindicated in case of hormone-dependent pathologies and mastoses. It is also contraindicated for pregnant or breast-feeding women, as well as for young children under 6 years old. Although the hydrolat is much less risky than its essential oil, which is known for its high concentration of thujone, a ketone toxic to the nervous system when used for a long time, it is better to remain cautious.
To avoid the risks of allergy, we advise you to make a test in the fold of your elbow. If there is no bad reaction within 24 hours, you can apply the product to your face. If there is a reaction, it is best to avoid using it on the skin.
