How to incorporate a serum into your daily routine?

True concentrates of skin care ingredients, the serum is a supplement to any morning and/or evening routine, particularly for those seeking to target a specific skin issue (dull complexion, brown spots, blemishes, wrinkles, etc.). From mature to dry skin, all skin types can find a face serum that meets their needs, provided it is applied correctly. The way the serum is applied can make a significant difference in terms of effectiveness.

Step No.1: Remove makeup/cleanse your skin.

In order not to hinder the absorption capacity of the serum, it should always be applied to a clean base. Morning and evening, wash your face using the technique of circular movements with a gentle cleanser suitable to help remove traces of makeup and impurities, thereby removing barriers that could prevent the formula from penetrating as deeply as necessary into the skin and thus avoid interfering with the product's effectiveness. Once you have finished washing your face, dry it with a soft towel by patting to avoid irritating the skin.

Once or twice a week, exfoliate the skin of your face and neck.

Step No. 2: Apply the serum.

Firstly, check whether you are using a serum for local application or for the entire face. If it's a targeted treatment, use it only on the recommended areas.

Pour a small amount of serum about the size of a pea (3 to 6 drops) into the palm of your hand. There is no need to apply a large amount of serum to provide your skin with all the possible benefits. Furthermore, for hygiene reasons, avoid putting the dropper directly in contact with your skin.

Before applying, transfer some of the product to your other hand without rubbing excessively, then gently press it onto all areas of the face (cheeks, forehead, chin, nose) and neck for a more even distribution of the product.

With the tips of your fingers, gently massage your skin by making light upward movements on each part of the face and neck until it is completely absorbed. Indeed, if you pull your skin downwards, you could cause a "skin trauma", which would contribute to its "wrinkling" and sagging over time. Finish by performing small taps with the tips of your fingers.

If your serum has a particularly fluid consistency, you can use the "single drop technique", which involves applying a drop of product to each section of the face. Place a drop on your finger, then slowly massage it into your cheek. Repeat this process for the other cheek, as well as for your forehead, nose, chin and neck.

Step No.3: Hydrating your skin.

Once the serum has been absorbed by the skin, do not wash your face or rub it with a towel.

Indeed, moisturisers help to prevent moisture loss by creating a protective barrier on the skin's surface, but they also serve to seal the ingredients of serums into the skin. Once the serum is absorbed, apply a dab of moisturising cream to the face and neck to lock the key ingredients into the skin.
