Eau de toilette contains 5-7% essential oils or other fragrant molecules, while eau de parfum contains up to 20%. The molecular structure of the essential oils used in the perfume. Eaux de parfum containing large molecules will have a persistent scent. This is the case with woody, musky and vanilla scents, which are also used as the base note of a perfume.
Skin type. Eaux de parfum have an affinity with lipids, since aromatic molecules are captured by them. This means that the perception of a fragrance will last a long time on oily skin and on previously moisturized skin.
