Dehydrated skin

Definition:   A recurrent but temporary and reversible problem, corresponding to a damaged hydrolipidic barrier that can no longer retain water. It presents as a loss of radiance and comfort, which results in a feeling of tightness, particularly after cleansing or showering. All skin types can experience dehydration.

Internal and external causes:   Facteurs environnementaux (froid, vent, pollution, soleil, etc...), stress, fatigue, tabac, hydratation insuffisante, consommation d'alcool, utilisation de produits cosmétiques trop agressifs /harsh products, taking certain medications (cholesterol-lowering, anti-acne, etc.), menopause, ageing skin.

How to reduce or eliminate them:   Use formulas rich in humectant and emollient ingredients (glycerin, urea, polyglutamic acid, hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, etc.).

Preventive measures:   Drink at least 1.5 litres of water every day; avoid overheated or air-conditioned rooms; choose non-aggressive skincare products; apply moisturiser morning and night; protect yourself from UV rays; opt for gentle skincare; remember to remove make-up and cleanse your skin in the evening.
