Cosmetic products with sunflower oil.

Sunflower oil is cultivated in many regions of the world for various uses. Thanks to its numerous properties, this versatile oil has become a preferred ingredient in the formulation of cosmetic care products for both skin and hair.

  • Hydrating Care.

There are several moisturising treatments based on sunflower oil. Indeed, it can be found in creams, lotions or even balms for the face or body. Sunflower oil deeply hydrates the skin. In fact, the essential fatty acids it contains provide softness and suppleness to the skin by limiting water loss. They form a film on the skin's surface that acts as a protective barrier. Sunflower oil helps dry and sensitive skin to combat dehydration and reduces unpleasant feelings of tightness.

  • Protective treatments to slow down skin ageing.

Thanks to its concentration of fatty acids and vitamins, sunflower oil possesses intriguing antioxidant properties. The tocopherols it contains are potent antioxidant agents that help protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals and prevent ageing. With its rich composition, sunflower oil thus provides skin protection against external aggressions. Therefore, it is frequently found in the formulation of cosmetic products such as serums or creams to protect and prevent premature cell ageing.

  • Soothing and restorative care.

Sunflower oil exhibits anti-inflammatory properties and can soothe skin irritations (superficial sunburn, tightness, minor burns, skin allergies) and redness. It can also assist in repairing damaged skin barriers. Indeed, the fatty acids found in its composition are capable of acting on inflammation markers such as the TNF-α, while mobilising inflammation cells. Various treatments have thus been formulated to alleviate sensitive and reactive skin, such as soothing creams, masks, massage oils, aftershave oils or after-sun products.

  • Lip care.

One of the most sensitive parts of the face, the lips, can become chapped, irritated or dried out by the cold. Many lip care products and balms contain sunflower vegetable oil to alleviate and soothe these unpleasant symptoms. The oil will soothe the skin by promoting the regeneration of damaged tissues.

  • Scalp relief treatments.

Sunflower oil is a component in many hair care products. Thanks to its anti-inflammatory effects, it soothes irritations and relieves scalp itchiness. Whether used in an oil bath or as a mask, alone or in a blend, this oil provides nourishment and protection to the scalp. It is a great ally for sensitive scalps.

  • Gentle cleansing care.

Due to its numerous virtues, sunflower oil ensures a gentle skin cleansing. It removes impurities found on the face and soothes the skin. It is found in gentle cleansing products suitable for sensitive and atopic skin such as makeup removing oils, cleansing balms or superfatted soaps.

  • Baby care.

Babies have particularly delicate skin that is prone to irritation both on the body and face. Sunflower oil, incorporated into care products such as massage oils, cleansing creams or moisturising creams, soothes irritations and redness. Its use for bathing or as a daily care product calms the sensitive and delicate skin of babies.
