Hyaluronic acid is a hydrophilic molecule that has the ability to retain up to a thousand times its weight in water. Responsible for the skin's natural hydration, it is present in the dermis, the deep layer of the skin. Over the years, the quantity of hyaluronic acid decreases, which promotes the appearance and establishment of wrinkles and fine lines on the skin's surface.
To delay this natural process, hyaluronic acid injections are offered in aesthetic surgery clinics or directly by dermatologists. As the name suggests, this method involves injecting hyaluronic acid into the sagging areas of the skin using a syringe or cannula.
An injection session spans between 20 and 30 minutes, the results are immediate and the patient can resume their activities immediately after the procedure. The difference post-procedure is visible straight away. The results obtained can be maintained up to approximately one year. However, this duration can vary from one person to another, depending on the quality of the skin and the type of hyaluronic acid used.

Overall, for any facial cosmetic product, it takes at least 4 weeks, which is the duration of a cellular regeneration cycle, to observe effects on one's skin.
Indeed, a natural cycle of skin cell renewal lasts approximately 28 days. During this cycle, new cells are born at the level of the basal layer, which is the deepest layer of the epidermis. As the cycle progresses, these cells migrate towards the skin's surface. During this process, they lose their nuclei and transform into dead cells. They then form the horny layer, the most superficial layer of the epidermis. The dead cells or keratinocytes are then shed (either naturally, or via chemical or mechanical exfoliation) and a new cellular cycle begins.
Therefore, 28 days corresponds to the time it takes for the skin to regenerate and fully integrate the benefits of the hyaluronic acid treatment that you regularly apply. This time span is necessary to observe its effects!
