What is Phyllostachys Bambusoides Extract and what is its utility?

Originating from southern China and northern India, Phyllostachys Bambusoides is a giant bamboo species belonging to the Poaceae or Gramineae family. It is commonly adopted for its ornamental qualities. It is best cultivated in fertile, moist soil, preferably in a sunny location. The question that arises is: what is the utility of Phyllostachys Bambusoides extract? Here's what you need to know about this ingredient.

Everything you need to know about Phyllostachys Bambusoides Extract

In the south of France, the height of Phyllostachys Bambusoides can reach 20 m. This tree is equipped with abundant foliage, the length of which varies between 15 and 20 cm. Unlike smaller bamboos, the rhizomes of Phyllostachys Bambusoides are larger and less numerous. Its shoots of an ochre-brown colour emerge around June or July. Encouraged by the summer heat, this late sprouting allows for rapid growth. The first shoots benefit from an untouched reserve, which allows them to enjoy normal growth. However, the subsequent ones may not withstand the winter.

Like all bamboos, Phyllostachys Bambusoides requires fertiliser, whether it's summer or spring. However, it is advisable to avoid applying fertiliser in autumn to prevent the foliage from becoming fragile in winter. The fertiliser can be substituted with properly decomposed manure, to be spread at the end of the winter period.
