What is "Olus Oil" and what is its use?

Long acclaimed in the food industry, vegetable oils are also finding success in the skincare sector. Thanks to their various benefits, they are incorporated into numerous treatments for facial skin, the entire body, and hair. For instance, 'Olus Oil' is increasingly present in facial skincare products.

What is "Olus Oil"?

"Olus Oil", translated into English as "vegetable oil", is a combination of canola seed oil and sunflower seed oil. This 100% natural ingredient contains neither preservatives nor GMOs.

Canola seed oil is valued for its various contributions. It has a high content of:

  • Oleic Acid or Omega 9;

  • Linoleic Acid or Omega 6;

  • Tocopherol;

  • Vitamin E.

As for sunflower seed oil, it is rich in fatty acids, particularly in:

  • Oleic Acid or Omega 9;

Linoleic Acid or Omega 6;

  • Palmitic Acid;

  • Stearic Acid.

It also contains Vitamin E and phytosterols.

What is the usefulness of "Olus Oil"?

Vegetable oil has entered the cosmetics industry due to its moisturising and emollient virtues. It provides a pleasant sensation when applied to the skin. Moreover, its protective power lasts throughout the day. The active ingredients of vegetable oil each play a role:

  • Sunflower seed oil: it hydrates and softens the skin;

  • Canola seed oil: it promotes comfort for sensitive skin.

The combination of these two oils results in a moisturising agent that nourishes the skin and prevents its dehydration. This natural active ingredient also promotes skin elasticity. It forms a natural barrier and limits the evaporation of water from the epidermis.

Vegetable oil is used in various treatments for the face and the entire body. Here are a few examples:

  • Lip creams;

  • Lip balms;

  • Facial night creams;

  • Lip pencils;

  • Day creams against skin ageing.

"Olus Oil" in a Typology skincare product

The SPF 30 sunscreen contains "Olus Oil". This is not one of the main active ingredients. However, it contributes to the finalisation of the formula to enhance the moisturising function of the care product. Indeed, to combat external aggressions and prevent skin dehydration, moisturising agents are incorporated into the ingredients of a sunscreen. In addition to this vegetable oil, the care product includes the following active ingredients:

  • The aloe vera gel, known for its moisturising power;

  • Hyaluronic acid, which is derived from the fermentation of wheat, exhibits a high moisturising property;

  • The karanja oil, chosen for its antioxidant properties.

The SPF 30 sunscreen safeguards the skin from the harmful effects of UVA and UVB rays. Thanks to its fluid texture, it easily penetrates the skin without leaving any white residue or oily film. Comprising 83.9% of naturally sourced ingredients, this skincare product is suitable for all skin types.
