How to Use Jojoba Oil for Face, Body and Hair.

Jojoba oil is obtained by cold pressing the seeds of the jojoba tree, a shrub native to the Mexican and Californian deserts. This vegetable oil is versatile and has multiple benefits. It can be used for both skin and hair care, and we explain to you how to use jojoba oil for face, body and hair.

Jojoba Oil Benefits.

Jojoba is a tree native to the Mexican deserts, cultivated solely for its oil. At room temperature, jojoba oil is a viscous yellow liquid with a nutty smell. When extracted cold, it retains all the active ingredients of the plant. Like most vegetable oils, its composition contains mainly essential fatty acids such as gadoleic acid, an omega-9.

The biochemical composition of jojoba oil is similar to that of human sebum, so it is very well tolerated and regulates hyperseborrhea. Thus, it cleanses the skins and hair with fatty tendency. Moreover, it reinforces the hydrolipidic film, the protective layer of the skin against the external aggressions. By forming an impermeable barrier, the hydrolipidic film prevents the multiplication of bad bacteria which can cause inflammations. It also maintains the skin's natural hydration, which is necessary to ensure its suppleness and softness. Like the skin, the hair needs a protective layer to prevent dehydration that leads to split ends and breakage. Thus, jojoba oil is also used to care for dry and dehydrated hair.

Furthermore, due to the presence of unsaponifiable matter, namely vitamins and minerals, jojoba oil is also a repairing active ingredient. The action of vitamin E and zinc allows fighting against oxidation reactions by trapping free radicals. As a reminder, the latter are responsible for the degradation of certain constituents of the skin such as collagen and elastin, causing premature aging. This results in skin slackening and the appearance of wrinkles. Jojoba oil thus helps to prevent skin aging.
