How To Use Aloe vera?

The gel obtained by mechanical pressing of the aloe vera plant is a natural source full of essential ingredients such as enzymes, amino acids and vitamins. This biochemical composition gives the gel soothing and moisturizing properties.

Focus on Aloe vera in Cosmetics

Aloe vera is a succulent plant that has been cultivated by various advanced cultures for over 5,000 years, especially for cosmetic purposes. Traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic, and later Greek, Egyptian and African medicine have used this plant since its origins to care for and protect the skin. According to legend, even Cleopatra used it regularly to perfect her beauty!

In Europe, Aloe vera in all its forms (I.N.C.I. names: Aloe Barbadensis Flower Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Polysaccharides, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Water) are approved for cosmetics under the COSMOS standard. It soothes inflammation such as sunburn, moisturizes the skin and smoothes wrinkles. When applied to the hair, it cleanses the scalp, fights dandruff and moisturizes the hair to prevent split ends.

How Do I Use Aloe vera for My Skin?

To relieve redness and/or moisturize the skin, you can use the gel of aloe vera pure or in combination with other substances in a cosmetic formula. Thus, various dosage forms contain aloe vera gel and are now sold on the cosmetic market. This natural compound can be included in creams, cooling lotions, cleansing gels, after-shave care, after-sun milk, deodorants, etc.

Aloe vera skin care products can usually be used safely on a daily basis. Aloe vera or a product containing the juice of aloe vera can be applied morning and night because it is not photosensitizing (i.e., does not increase the skin's sensitivity to the sun's UV rays). Still, be sure to protect your skin with a broad-spectrum sunscreen every morning. Our SPF 30 sunscreen is enriched with aloe vera to protect the skin from drying out.

How Do I Use Aloe vera for My Hair?

Aloe vera gel contains polysaccharides that form a protective film on the surface of hair fibers to retain moisture and fight dryness. It is rich in vitamins E and A, antioxidant compounds, and protects hair from external agents (pollution, UV rays, etc.), making it less damaged. It is also known to cleanse the scalp and effectively fight dandruff.

Aloe vera can be used as a mask to moisturize the hair fibers and/or cleanse the scalp. Apply it to dry hair from roots to ends as needed, leave in for a few minutes and then rinse with plenty of water. You can also mix a few drops into your shampoo to get its benefits. Some hair care products are also already enriched with the juice of aloe vera, such as masks, conditioners and oils.
