Comment bien choisir son huile de noisette ?

How to choose your hazelnut oil correctly?

Hazelnut vegetable oil is renowned in skin and hair care for its ability to regulate sebum production. Non-greasy and non-comedogenic, it is considered a dry oil that quickly penetrates the epidermis. Given the numerous hazelnut vegetable oils available on the market, it can sometimes be difficult to navigate.

1. Choose an oil derived from the first cold pressing.

A hazelnut oil is said to be pure when it is labelled as "virgin oil". This means that it has undergone no chemical transformation during its extraction, and that impurities have simply been removed by filtering, for example, through cellulose paper.

On its packaging or the product page of your oil, there should also be the mention "obtained by first cold pressing". This extraction method involves crushing the nuts using an oil press, which ensures optimal quality of the nourishing and sebum-regulating virtues of the final care product.

2. Prioritise an oil derived from organic farming.

An Organic certification ensures that no unauthorised phytosanitary products have been used during the cultivation of hazelnuts. Cosmos and AB are the two types of certifications that oils, produced in accordance with these specifications, can aspire to.

3. Analyse the I.N.C.I. list of the oil in question.

Before applying a hazelnut vegetable oil to your skin, you should also take the time to read its I.N.C.I list. This will help you determine its quality. You will find all the necessary information to guide your choice within it.

Be cautious of skincare products with a long list of ingredients. They may contain chemical substances that are harmful to health or the environment. It is best to choose an oil that is free from unnecessary ingredients.

Note: If you are unsure how to decipher the ingredients present in hazelnut oil, steer your choice towards an organic oil. This will not contain any synthetic ingredients that are harmful to your skin, your body and/or the environment.
