What is the purpose of face powder?
Face powder is an essential for evening out the complexion. Throughout the day, it proves handy for making minor touch-ups. Regardless of the chosen powder format, this treatment allows for a smooth and matte skin, concealing imperfections, setting makeup, preparing for the application of blush and bronzer, hiding enlarged pores, reducing skin shine, and protecting the skin from external aggressions.
Which powder for which skin type?
It is essential to select face powder according to your skin type.
Loose powder is more suitable for oily skin due to its dry texture. It absorbs excess sebum. This very fine powder typically has absorbent powders such as talc, mica, or silica as its base ingredient. It is suitable for setting makeup and providing a unified complexion without excess sebum.
Compact powder is suitable for dry skin as it typically does not contain absorbent powders such as talc, and it less noticeably highlights areas of dryness on the face. Compact powder, is the equivalent of foundation but in a "solid" powder form. It helps to conceal enlarged pores, blur imperfections, redness and dark circles for a smooth and even finish. However, it can be criticised for emphasising fine lines more than loose powder due to its richer and "heavier" texture. Unlike loose powder, pressed powder is usually always tinted.
It should be noted that mattifying powders are most often loose powders. Indeed, ideal for combination to oily skin types, they generally contain substances that absorb excess sebum. It should be noted that there are two types of mattifying powders: tinted and transparent. The first version, which is white in appearance, is suitable for all skin types. It leaves a colourless finish. As their name suggests, tinted powders provide coverage and are chosen based on skin tone. However, this type of powder ensures good coverage to conceal imperfections.

Zinc PCA (1%): This element significantly reduces sebum secretion. Paired with L-Pyrrolidone Carboxylic Acid, zinc promotes cellular differentiation and strengthens the skin's barrier function to protect it from future outbreaks.
Hyaluronic Acid (0.1%): This hygroscopic compound can hold up to a thousand times its weight in water, making it a potent skincare ingredient for instant hydration.
