Aqueous Pouches (Malar Pouches)
Definition:
Swelling of the lower eyelid, caused by water retention. This phenomenon is due to insufficient circulation in the lymphatic vessels around the eye during the night. They slowly disappear over the course of the day.
Internal and external causes:
Lack of sleep, fatigue, excessive alcohol, age.
How to reduce or eliminate:
Apply a compress soaked in cornflower hydrosol; use a daily care product containing decongestant substances (niacinamide, caffeine, cornflower hydrosol...); place a cold water compress or a metal spoon previously placed in the refrigerator on the bags under the eyes.
Preventative steps to take:
Ensure at least 7 hours of sleep per night; consume a minimum of 1.5 litres of water daily; avoid excessive salt intake.
