Properties

  • Anti-glycation: Protecting proteins against the phenomenon of glycation by inhibiting the overall formation of advanced glycation end products (AGE) in a concentration-dependent manner;

  • Antioxidant: Prevent and reverse the damage caused by environmental free radicals to the skin, when they accumulate in large quantities within cells, thanks to its high flavonoid content, by its ability to inhibit the formation of free radicals and lipid peroxidation;

  • Exfoliant/Keratolytic: Brightening the complexion and promoting skin texture uniformity by aiding in the removal of dead, dull, and dehydrated cells on the skin's surface, while accelerating cellular renewal at the basal layer of the skin;

  • Brightening : Diminishing the appearance of brown spots by inhibiting the activity of tyrosinase, a key enzyme in the production of melanin, and also due to its "peeling" effect.

  • Facial Care (facial serums, facial creams, facial masks, eye contour treatments, exfoliants, toning lotions, cleansers, mists);

Contraindications, Usage Precautions

The extract of pink grapefruit appears to present no particular dangers to the skin. However, given that it contains fruit acids and furanocoumarins, it cannot be ruled out that it may cause skin reactions (redness, skin dryness, irritations, etc.) in some individuals, as with any cosmetic ingredient. Therefore, certain precautions must be taken

  • It is recommended toperform a skin test on a small area of the body (inside of the elbow, inner wrist, behind the ear) to observe any potential skin reaction, before applying it to larger areas of the body.

  • It is advisable to limit any exposure to the sun and toapply a broad-spectrum sun product daily with at least an SPF 30 for the duration of the use of the care product with grapefruit extract.

The pink grapefruit (pomelo) is a subtropical citrus fruit that shares many similarities with the grapefruit. However, the pomelo is a hybrid species, meaning it is the result of a natural and accidental crossbreeding between the pomelo tree (Citrus maxima) and the sweet orange (Citrus sinensis). It also has a thicker rind and is sweeter, as well as having a different colouration (light green or pale yellow) than the grapefruit. Traditionally, the pomelo is used to combat stress and anxiety, to enhance mental and physical abilities, to reduce cardiovascular risks, and as a gastric tonic.
