Commonly known as:   Piper Nigrum Fruit Oil (I.N.C.I.).

Botanical name:   Piper nigrum.

Extraction process:   Distillation by steam stripping.

Family:   Piperaceae.

Extracted part of the plant:   Fruits.

Cultivation area, origin:   India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Brazil, Madagascar, Malaysia.

Blooming:   Summer.

Origin, provenance:   India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka.

Phytochemical composition:   Beta-caryophyllene, alpha-pinene, linalool, limonene, delta-3-carene, sabinene, beta-pinene, germacrene-D, beta-selinene, beta-elemene, alpha-copaene, alpha-selinene, caryophyllene oxide.

Sensory properties:   Appearance: Clear, mobile liquid; Colour: Colourless to bluish-green; Odour: Fresh, woody, spicy.

Physical properties:   Density = 0.861 - 0.885.

Concerns:   Fragrant, toning, stimulating.

Effect:   All skin types, particularly those with cellulite; All hair types.

Method of Preservation

Essential oils are sensitive to UV radiation. That's why it is recommended to store them in an amber glass bottle, away from heat.

Contraindications, usage precautions

Potentially allergenic. When applied topically,do not useinchildren under 6 years oldand inpregnant and/or breastfeeding women.

Some natural compounds found in this essential oil, such as limonene, may pose an allergy risk for certain sensitive individuals when the essential oil is incorporated into a cosmetic composition (according to the 7th Amendment of the European Directive on cosmetic products (2003/15/EC)).

As a general rule, always conduct an application test of your preparation on the inside of your elbow, at least 48 hours before using it.
