How to use an anti-mark serum?

Individuals prone to acne often notice the appearance of marks left by spots, which can make the complexion unattractive. However, the use of an anti-mark serum can help to diminish their appearance. If you are considering using this treatment, here is how to proceed.

How does the anti-mark blemish serum work?

The anti-mark serum has been developed to repair damaged skin tissues, reduce redness and improve the appearance of post-acne marks. It thus helps to even out the complexion and smooth the skin texture. This treatment is suitable for skin with irregularities and post-acne marks, particularly pigmentation marks (brown or red) and those in relief. Its formula notably contains:

  • Gluconolactone, measured at 14%, is used for its keratolytic action which gives the skin a smooth and radiant appearance. This poly-hydroxy acid (PHA) rids the skin of dead cells, thus accelerating the renewal of the epidermis. Gluconolactone is also valued for its moisturising properties by capturing and retaining water molecules in the epidermis. Several studies have also demonstrated their anti-inflammatory properties ;

  • Centella asiatica (INCI name: "Centella Asiatica Leaf Cell Extract"), is a semi-aquatic herbaceous plant native to Asia, valued for its restorative and remodelling properties. Indeed, it has been demonstrated that this ingredient is a true healing booster through the action of asiaticoside and madecassoside. In addition, through the action of saponosides and triterpenes, Centella asiatica stimulates collagen production. It is also known for its soothing virtues ;

  • Liquorice Extract (INCI name: "Glycyrrhiza Glabra Root Extract"), known for its depigmenting action, thus unifying the complexion. The effectiveness of the liquorice extract is based on the presence of a large amount of glabridin. Indeed, it is capable of inhibiting tyrosinase, a key enzyme responsible for the production of melanin.

Advice for using the anti-mark blemish serum.

During your evening beauty routine, after having removed your makeup and cleansed your skin, apply 2 to 3 drops of the serum on post-acne marks. For better penetration of the mixture, gently massage the area for a few minutes with your fingertips. Similarly, wait a few minutes before continuing your routine to allow your skin time to absorb the treatment and thus benefit from all its virtues. Be sure to use it daily to help you achieve the desired result in a short time. The anti-mark serum is ideally used in a course of a minimum duration of 2 months to improve the visual appearance of post-acne traces, which is the necessary time for the skin to regenerate.

However, before you begin, ensure that your acne has completely disappeared, that the wounds are healed and not open.

How to prevent the onset of acne scars?

  • Rule No. 1: Regularly massage the skin with a product rich in moisturising and emollient agents to maintain a good hydration level, which is favourable for the proper functioning of fibroblasts. These stimulate the production of elastin and collagen to repair the skin.

  • Rule No. 2: Select a non-comedogenic product to avoid blocking the pores and triggering a new outbreak of acne.

  • Rule No. 3: Avoid touching and popping pimples. These actions can significantly increase the risk of poor healing and therefore be the cause of deep skin lesions.

  • Rule No. 4: Always remember to apply a sunscreen during acne flare-ups and avoid sun exposure. Indeed, UV rays exacerbate pimples. Moreover, acne treatments are photosensitising. Therefore, lesions in the healing phase are at risk of pigmentation, potentially leading to irreversible brown spots.
