How to use a cleansing balm?

If you're a daily makeup enthusiast, a cleansing makeup remover balm can be a good way to gently and effectively remove your makeup, as well as the day's build-up (dust, pollution particles, etc.) with its melting texture, all without irritating or harming the skin. But how should it be applied to achieve optimal effectiveness?

Why use a cleansing balm?

The cleansing balm is a type of gentle cleanser that utilises oils and emollients to avoid damaging the skin barrier and depriving the skin of its sebum. Indeed, unlike other makeup removers, it benefits from the comfort of a cream and the effectiveness of a makeup removing oil, with the practicality of being presented in a semi-solid form that easily melts onto the skin. It allows for the dissolution of all traces of makeup, even those that are water-resistant and long-lasting, as well as sunscreen or impurities without a greasy feeling thanks to its hybrid texture.

Beyond its makeup-removing properties, it provides the skin with a first phase of nourishment, making it an excellent addition to your facial cleansing routine, as well as providing a comfortable touch. It does not leave the skin dry, and also makes the skin soft, fresh and provides it with additional comfort. This type of makeup remover can be suitable for all skin types, even for combination to oily skin, debunking the misconception that this type of makeup remover would be too heavy and too greasy.

Non-comedogenic, fragrance-free, alcohol-free, 100% natural and tested on sensitive skin, our cleansing makeup remover balm provides optimal skin cleansing while respecting the skin's flora, offering hydrating benefits and helping to maintain the skin's protective barrier.

Cleansing Balm: What are the rules for proper use?

The cleansing balm should be applied as the first step in your facial cleansing routine.

  1. Using your fingertips, take an amount equivalent to a hazelnut of the product and warm it between your hands;

  2. Next, distribute the substance evenly over the dry skin of your face, neck, lips and eyelids, making circular movements from the inside out to optimise the removal of various impurities.

    Upon application, the balm-like texture liquefies upon contact with the skin's warmth, transforming into a gentle oil.

  3. Next, emulsify with a bit of warm water and gently wipe off with the aid of a washcloth or a dampened cotton pad. Repeat the process once more to ensure everything is thoroughly removed.

    Once water is added, the balm liquefies and transforms into a delicate emulsion with a milky and creamy texture for easy rinsing, instead of emulsifying into a foam.

  4. Gently pat your skin dry using a soft cloth and continue with the rest of your skincare routine. For optimal results, you can perform a double cleanse following the makeup removal balm with a water-based cleanser.

Our cleansing balm has been dermatologically and ophthalmologically tested, making it safe to use around the eye contour. It is also safe for daily use.
