The vegetable soybean oil: in which skincare products is it used?

The soybean vegetable oil, or Glycine Soja Oil as per its INCI name, is a natural ingredient that presents itself as a slightly golden liquid, highly penetrative and without a distinctive fragrance. Obtained through cold pressing of soybean seeds, soybean oil possesses several interesting properties for the skin and hair. Various publications have indeed highlighted its antioxidant, nourishing, brightening, and toning power, making it very popular for formulating care products intended for skin prone to dryness or sagging.

  • Gentle Cleansers : Firstly, soybean oil can be found in certain cleansing products, such as makeup removal oils, cleansing foams, or even solid soaps. It can thus be used to eliminate impurities and makeup residues present on the skin, without irritating it and while providing softness and suppleness.

  • Skincare to delay skin ageing : The antioxidant properties of the soybean oil and its ability to boost the synthesis of collagen, elastin and fibrillin-1 make it a good ingredient to slow down the effects of time on the skin. That's why it is regularly incorporated into serums and creams aimed at protecting the skin from oxidative stress and providing it with suppleness.

  • Brightening Care : Soybean oil is also used to prevent and treat hyperpigmentation spots. This ingredient works by inhibiting the activity of the PAR-2 receptor, which is involved in the process of transferring melanin from the deep producing cells to the cells of the skin's superficial layer. This property justifies the frequent inclusion of soybean oil in the composition of depigmenting creams and serums.

  • Nourishing Care : Cream, mask, serum, mist... Several skincare products based on soybean oil have been developed to nourish and hydrate the skin. This ingredient is ideal for relieving dry, sensitive, atopic or cold-weakened skin. Indeed, soybean oil is rich in fatty acids, molecules known for their ability to strengthen the epidermal barrier and limit insensible water loss (IWL).

  • Lip Care : The skin on the lips is extremely delicate and requires special attention, especially during winter. Cold and wind are indeed factors that can cause them to become irritated, dry, or even chapped. Some lip balms contain soybean oil to strengthen and soothe this area. Beyond these benefits, soybean oil also helps to regenerate damaged skin tissues.

  • Hair Masks : Finally, soybean oil is renowned for its hair benefits and its ability to provide strength, shine, and softness to dry and brittle hair. It is therefore frequently found in nourishing hair masks or in certain conditioners.

Typology products containing soybean oil.

Through studying its moisturising benefits and its effects on skin sagging, we have decided to incorporate soybean vegetable oil into the formulation of a wide range of our skincare products.

  • Formulated with 0.3% retinol and also containing soybean oil, the wrinkle and fine line serum prevents skin sagging by stimulating the synthesis of collagen and elastin. This treatment is preferably applied in the evening, on a clean and dry face, before the night cream. Due to the presence of retinol in its composition, its use is not recommended for sensitive and atopic skin.

  • Highly concentrated in Q10 and prickly pear oil, the eye contour cream helps to delay and visibly reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Suitable for all skin types, it is used morning and evening.

  • You can also find soybean oil in our radiance mask. This treatment is also enriched with turmeric (INCI: Curcuma Longa Root Extract) and yellow clay (INCI: Kaolin), and helps to revive the skin's radiance, while combating its natural photoaging. After rinsing, it leaves the skin comfortable and nourished, particularly due to the presence of mango butter (INCI: Mangifera Indica Seed Butter) in its composition.

  • Combining the action of 7 botanical extracts with toning and firming properties, our botanical firming blend helps to tighten the skin. Among the natural active ingredients it contains, we can mention prickly pear oil, immortelle essential oil, and soybean vegetable oil, three extracts working in synergy to regenerate the skin. This botanical blend is applied each evening to the entire face as the final step in the routine and can replace a night cream.

  • The purifying botanical blend has been specifically designed for combination to oily skin types. This night serum aids in purifying the skin due to the sebum-regulating and anti-inflammatory properties of 7 botanical extracts, including soybean oil. Three to four drops are sufficient to enjoy its benefits.

  • If you wish to revive the radiance of your complexion and achieve an immediate subtle tan, we recommend our buriti botanical blend. Composed of 6 plant extracts, this serum is rich in beta-carotene and helps to extend the tan naturally. This botanical blend also contains soybean oil, which helps to protect the skin barrier while making it more supple and bouncy.

  • Our self-tanning serum can be used alone or mixed with your regular face cream, providing a natural, gradual, and adjustable tan thanks to the combination of self-tanning molecules of plant origin. In addition to containing moisturising soybean oil, this serum combines DHA and erythrulose, a combination known to make the tan more even and long-lasting.

  • Our nourishing body scrub is a melting exfoliating gel with micro grains of apricot kernels. It also contains sweet almond oil, which is nourishing, and super lavandin essential oil, which has a reparative action. This scrub should be applied once or twice a week on clean, dry skin and helps to nourish, soften and smooth the skin.

  • In order to diminish the appearance of stretch marks, we have developed a gel-to-oil formula enriched with aloe vera gel (INCI: Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice) and also with baobab oil (INCI: Adansonia Digitata Oil). Containing soybean oil as well, this treatment is recommended for the prevention of all types of stretch marks, whether they are related to hormonal changes or stretching of the skin tissues. It should be applied to clean, dry skin once a day. For pregnant women, it is recommended to use the gel twice a day until childbirth and to continue at a rate of once to twice a day in the following months.
