Everything You Need To Know About Chamomile and Its Hydrosol
Chamomile is a perennial plant that can be recognized by its flowers with white flower heads and a central yellow disk; it looks very much like the white daisy. This spring plant belongs to the Asteraceae family. There are different varieties of chamomile including German chamomile, large chamomile and Roman chamomile, the most commonly used in cosmetics.
To obtain the hydrolate and essential oil, the flowers are distilled by steam distillation. From the same plant, hydrolate and essential oil have similar properties but the hydrolate is less concentrated in active ingredients because the aromatic essences are present in smaller quantities.
Our hydrating cleansing milk contains chamomile hydrolate with 0.5% hyaluronic acid and coconut oil. This care eliminates the impurities without drying the skin. It is formulated from soft, biodegradable and natural surfactants that create a delicate foam to clean the skin while respecting its balance.
Chamomile Hydrolate To Care for Irritated Skin
Chamomile hydrosol has excellent anti-inflammatory and astringent properties. It soothes discomfort, calms irritation, reduces redness and purifies the skin. It is suitable for all skin types, and is even suitable for infants.
Using a cotton pad, apply it morning and/or evening, before your usual serum or cream, on your clean and dry face and neck.
Chamomile Hydrolate To Care for Dull Skin
Fatigue, excessive sun exposure, poor diet or hormonal fluctuations... So many factors which make the skin dull and without glare. In daily application, on a clean and dry face, the hydrolate of chamomile awakes the complexion, makes it more uniform and restores brightness and flexibility to the skin.
The accumulation of dead cells and impurities on the surface of the skin is at the origin of a dull and lackluster skin. In addition to the daily application of chamomile hydrolate, it is recommended to exfoliate at least once a week.
How To Store Chamomile Hydrolate
As it does not contain any preservatives and is made from fresh flowers, the hydrosol is sensitive to light, oxidation and heat. Therefore, take care to keep it in an opaque bottle, in a dry place away from light and heat. The hydrosol can be kept for about 6 months after opening.
