What is orange blossom hydrosol?

This natural compound is derived from the steam distillation of dried flowers from the Bitter Orange tree. Its high content of flavonoids and vitamin C endows it with antioxidant properties that can rejuvenate dull complexions while combating oxidative stress, one of the factors of premature skin ageing. For hair, it also has benefits. Indeed, the terpenes it contains (linalool, limonene...) have anti-inflammatory properties. Therefore, orange blossom hydrosol is recommended for soothing irritated scalps prone to itching and/or redness.

Note : Unlike essential oil, orange blossom hydrosol, being less concentrated in active species, can be used without contraindications by children and pregnant women.

This floral water tightens pores, smooths skin texture and firms the epidermis. Its astringent properties help to regulate excessive sebum secretion, a characteristic of oily skin. Moreover, its terpene content soothes redness and irritation, effectively combating the phenomenon of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation responsible for acne scars. Furthermore, orange blossom hydrosol is renowned for its floral and fresh fragrance, which lends a pleasant scent to cosmetic formulas.

It is used in sprays on the body and face, to mattify the skin and combat redness associated with blemishes. It can also be applied to the skin as a lotion morning and evening, after the stages of makeup removal and cleansing. Finally, you can add a few drops to your usual day or night cream.
