Function:   Cosmetic colorant.

Origin:   Mineral.

Concentration allowed by the EU regulation:   Up to 10% in finished cosmetic products. Only nanomaterials with the following characteristics are allowed: Purity > 97% with the following impurity profile: ash content ≤ 0.15%, total sulfur content ≤ 0.65%, total PAH content ≤ 500 ppb and benzo[a]pyrene ≤ 5 ppb, dibenzo[a, h]anthracene ≤ 5 ppb, total As content ≤ 3 ppm, total Pb content ≤ 10 ppm, total Hg content ≤ 1 ppm.

Where to find it / Where they are found?:   Nail polishes, eyeliners, mascaras, eye shadows, face masks, illuminators, blushes, foundations, face masks, lipsticks.

Additional information:   Black coloring. Do not use in applications that may lead to end user lung exposure by inhalation. Also used as a food additive (E152). Not approved in the United States. Classified in group 2B by IARC (International Agency for Research on Cancer).
