Function:   Antistatic agent, hair conditioning agent, preservative.

Origin:   Synthetic, plant-derived.

Concentration allowed by the EU regulation:   Up to 5% in rinse-off hair and facial hair products in ready-to-use formulations. Up to 3% in leave-on hair and facial hair products in ready-to-use formulations. Up to 3% in leave-on facial products in ready-to-use formulations. Up to 0.1% in finished cosmetic products as a preservative.
