Succinic Acid:
Derived from a biofermentation process, succinic acid is an organic compound with antibacterial properties. It specifically targets Cutibacterium acnes, the bacteria involved in the formation of blemishes, and inhibits its growth. Succinic acid also regulates the proliferation of epidermal cells, thereby limiting skin thickening. This helps prevent pore obstruction and minimizes the risk of new blemishes forming. Finally, succinic acid inhibits the release of certain pro-inflammatory molecules, reducing redness associated with inflammatory blemishes.

Copper PCA:
Known for its sebum-regulating effects, the copper-PCA complex is a valuable ally for combination to oily skin. By tightening pores and reducing the activity of sebaceous glands, copper helps to prevent blemishes. Additionally, it disrupts the metabolism of bacteria and inhibits their growth. PCA, on the other hand, promotes the synthesis of filaggrin, thereby strengthening the skin barrier and preventing water loss.
